Recent Freedom in 2011 – First Batch of Sock Toys

Posted by on December 5, 2011

Recently, due to MAJOR decision making, I managed to free up my "super hectic schedule" and changed it to "super free schedule".

I asked myself, what am I going to do with ALL my free time now?

And so, began my journey of… making sock toys!

I stumbled into this while at Suntec City when browsing through a sales fair by Popular Bookshop. I actually went there to see if they have any cross-stitch books, since I had some experience (minimal, actually) doing cross-stitch and it was a good way to spend my free time. Then, flipping through this book which explains how sock toys are made, I was inspired! enlightened

And Xmas was coming…

So… I put together my sewing equipment, went to Art Friends for some additional equipment, and Daiso to buy socks. I can't possibly give gifts to my friends made out of socks that I wore before, could I?

And… let me present to you: Snowy and Snowy Jr. !!!

Aren't they cute?

1 big white sock

1 small white sock

1 red/black sock for the beanie and scarf (for both)

buttons for eyes and body

pompoms for noses

stuffing for the bodies and thread to tie the hands and neck
